CORRECTIONS: The Lombard Invasion was in the 8th Century (after the empire was split between west and east). The original invasion that destroyed the original Roman Empire in the 5th Century was a barbarian coalition led by Odoacer. Also, the Age of Enlightenment began in 1650, although the Protestant Reformation that sparked the Age of Enlightenment did occur within the 16th Century. Thanks to Stardusk for the information.
